Google updates Hangouts with stickers, video filters & more

Google is rolling out a Hangouts Android app in Google Play, which brings a number of new features and enhancements.

Hangouts Android app now includes stickers. Yes, following the footsteps of Facebook Messenger and all of Asian chat apps, Google has added 16 sticker packs to the Hangouts app and more are expected to arrive in the coming weeks. In addition, the updated version of the app brings video-filters to make your video chats interesting and fun.

New Features :

Discovery: Confirm your phone number and your friends, who already have your number, will be able to easily find and message you in Hangouts

Last seen: Know when your friends are ready to chat right now with “last seen” timestamps

Share your location with smart suggestions: When someone asks, “Where are you?”, Hangouts can now understand what you need and offer to help.  You’ll see a one-tap option to share your location right in the conversation, without you needing to hunt around in a map, drop a pin and send your position.

The updated version will reach your Android device in the coming days.
