LG G3 to get Android 5.0 in Q4, G2 to get Lollipop as well

LG Germany has revealed on its official Facebook page that Android 5.0 update will be rolled-out for the G3 smartphone in Q4, 2014. The company has not given any other details but it did note that G2 update will follow, without giving any time frame.
Given the past record of LG, we won’t be surprised if Android 5.0 for LG G2 takes its sweet time to arrive and even Q4 timeline for G3 gets extended but we are hoping for the best.

Android 5.0 includes enhanced lock-screen notifications, heads-up notifications, material design changes, ART as default runtime, better battery backup, new camera capabilities, multiple-user support, improved security and more.
LG G3 runs on Android 4.4 at this point and Android 5.0 will be the first major Android update for the phone. On the other hand, G2 was announced in August last year with Android 4.2.2 on-board and since has been updated to Android 4.4.2, skipping Android 4.3 update.
