Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 reportedly rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat (2014 Edition)


Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) tablet. The update is currently live in Columbia for the Wi-Fi version (SM-P600) of the tablet and is expected to reach other markets over the coming weeks.


The update brings faster performance, wireless printing support, full screen album, new camera shortcut, white status bar icons, enhanced sound controls, default home and SMS apps and general stability improvements.

Available over-the-air and via Samsung Kies application, the update brings the usual KitKat specific goodies like translucent status bar icons, performance enhancements, immersive mode, user-interface improvements and more.

The update is rolling out in phases, so not everyone will get it right-away. To manually check for the update, go to Settings » General » About phone » Software updates.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition in India is powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core Exynos 5 Octa processor. There is 3GB of RAM and the tablet comes with 16GB built-in storage options. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor and autofocus accompanied by an LED flash, as well as a 2-megapixel BSI sensor.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) packs massive 8220mAh battery to support its large screen. It comes preloaded with Samsung KNOX for enhanced security. Connectivity options on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and AllShareCast, as well as 3G/ LTE.

It comes in two colour options Jet Black and Classic White and is available in Wi-Fi only, Wi-Fi and 3G, Wi-Fi and LTE variants.
